A biological indicator test pack designed for steam sterilization provides a reliable method for monitoring sterilizer efficacy. Each pack incorporates a STEAMPlus™ Sterilization Integrator attached to a load record card, enabling immediate documentation of sterilization cycles. Upon activation, the biological indicator monitors spore viability at regular intervals, providing visual confirmation of sterilization performance throughout the process.

The test pack is compatible with both gravity and pre-vacuum steam sterilizers, offering performance equivalent to AAMI standard BI Test Packs (PCD). Media growth promotion has been validated specifically for the survival and detection of Geobacillus stearothermophilus, ensuring accurate monitoring under extended steam cycles at 132°C for 10 minutes. This validation supports the use of the product for both routine and implant load sterilization, in compliance with current AAMI guidelines.

Indicator change is clearly visible, with the bar transitioning to a safe zone upon successful sterilization, providing unambiguous confirmation for clinical staff. The pack measures 4-1/2 inches in length and is classified as a Type 5 indicator, allowing integration with standard sterilization records and monitoring systems. Results are finalized within a 10-hour incubation period, ensuring timely documentation and regulatory compliance.
