The STRATAFIX™ Knotless Tissue Control Device is an absorbable, monofilament suture designed to optimize surgical closure without the need for knot tying. This device incorporates barbed suture technology, enhancing wound security by anchoring tissue at multiple points along the wound edge. The absence of knots reduces foreign body load and minimizes tissue trauma during closure.

Constructed from a copolymer of polyglycolic acid and polycaprolactone (PGA-PCL), the suture demonstrates predictable absorption and strength retention characteristics. It maintains sufficient tensile strength during the critical wound healing period, followed by gradual hydrolytic degradation. The device is fully absorbed by the body over time, eliminating the need for suture removal.

This specific configuration features two 14 cm segments joined at the center, each armed with a curved FS-2 needle. The undyed suture offers minimal visibility in tissue, which is suitable for aesthetic closures or delicate procedures. The FS-2 needle, with its fine curvature and cutting design, is ideal for soft tissue approximation in subcuticular or dermal layers.
