Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, Undyed Braided, Size 2-0, 27", is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of Polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, an antibacterial agent. This coating provides proven in vitro effectiveness against a broad range of pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE, thereby helping to reduce the risk of surgical site infections.

The braided structure enhances flexibility, handling, and knot security during tissue approximation. The addition of a triclosan coating serves both antimicrobial and lubricating functions, ensuring smooth passage through tissue while reducing drag. The undyed version is specifically intended for use in cosmetic or pediatric surgeries, or in situations where pigment visibility is undesirable.

The reverse cutting needle provided with this suture is designed to efficiently penetrate tough or fibrous tissues, such as skin or fascia. Its 3/8 circle curvature ensures precise control and placement, making this suture suitable for general, gynecologic, orthopedic, and plastic surgeries.
