Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, Violet Braided, CT Needle, Size 0, 27" is a synthetic, absorbable surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910. The suture features a braided structure with a violet coating that enhances visibility and provides smooth passage through tissue. Its design facilitates easy handling and knot security during surgical procedures. 

This suture is treated with an antibacterial agent, triclosan, which has demonstrated efficacy in vitro against common surgical site pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE. The antibacterial coating helps reduce the risk of postoperative infections by inhibiting bacterial colonization on the suture material, making it suitable for use in contaminated or infection-prone surgical fields.

The CT needle, a taper point design, enables precise penetration with minimal tissue trauma, suitable for delicate soft tissue surgeries. The suture maintains sufficient tensile strength during the critical wound healing phase, ensuring reliable wound support. It loses approximately 50% of its tensile strength by three weeks and undergoes complete absorption within 56 to 70 days.
