Bio-Glo 1 mg Ophthalmic Strip is a diagnostic tool used in ocular exams to assess the integrity of the corneal epithelium. The strip contains a fluorescein sodium dye, which is utilized to highlight areas of corneal injury, dryness, or disease. Upon application to the eye, the fluorescein dye fluoresces under cobalt blue light, allowing healthcare providers to identify abrasions, ulcers, or other corneal conditions that may not be visible to the naked eye.

This product is typically used in conjunction with a slit-lamp examination, offering enhanced visualization of the corneal surface. The dye selectively stains areas where there is damage to the epithelial cells, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as corneal abrasions, infections, or foreign bodies.
