Description

Asclera 1.0% is a sclerosing agent used in the treatment of uncomplicated spider veins (varicose veins = 1 mm in diameter) and uncomplicated reticular veins (varicose veins 1 to 3 mm in diameter). It is supplied as a clear, colorless to slightly colored solution in a single-dose glass vial.

The active ingredient in Asclera is polidocanol, a detergent sclerosant that works by damaging the endothelium, or the innermost lining, of the blood vessels, causing them to close. This process is known as sclerotherapy, and it helps to improve the appearance of varicose veins.

Asclera 1.0% is intended for use by healthcare professionals trained in sclerotherapy procedures. It is administered by injection directly into the affected veins using a small needle. After injection, the treated veins gradually fade and eventually disappear.
