Description

VICRYL™ Plus Coated Undyed Suture, Size 5-0, 18", with PS-2 needle is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of Polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolide and lactide. It is coated with triclosan, an antibacterial agent proven to inhibit bacterial colonization and reduce the risk of surgical site infections. The undyed form is preferred in applications where minimal pigment is required, such as in plastic or pediatric surgery.

The suture features a braided configuration that enhances flexibility, secure knotting, and superior handling. The coating minimizes tissue drag and promotes smoother passage through delicate tissue layers. The antibacterial coating creates a zone of inhibition against common pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE, contributing to improved postoperative outcomes.

The attached PS-2 needle is a precision 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle, suitable for delicate skin closures and subcuticular suturing.
