Description
Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, Size 2-0, 27", Undyed, with SH needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of polyglactin 910 and coated with IRGACARE® MP (triclosan). This antibacterial coating has demonstrated in vitro effectiveness in producing a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE.
The braided structure of the suture provides superior handling, secure knot tying, and excellent tensile strength for soft tissue approximation. It is designed to offer predictable absorption and performance consistency during healing. Its undyed form is preferred in certain surgeries for reduced visibility or allergic considerations.
The SH needle is a 26 mm, 1/2 circle taper point needle designed for soft tissue passage with minimal trauma. The suture’s antibacterial barrier reduces the risk of surgical site infections, making it ideal for general closure, gynecological, urological, and other soft tissue procedures in clean-contaminated or high-risk environments.
