Suture, 1 3-18 CTD VICRYL™ VIO BR OS-4 is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of Polyglactin 910, a copolymer derived from glycolide and lactide. The suture is coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate, which enhances handling and reduces tissue drag. Its braided configuration contributes to excellent knot security and reliable tensile strength, particularly important for deeper or high-tension closures.

This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, excluding use in cardiovascular and neurological tissues. The size 1 designation provides high tensile strength, making it suitable for muscle layer closures, fascia repair, and other procedures requiring durable, absorbable support. The violet color ensures visibility in surgical fields, aiding placement and suture management.

The OS-4 needle is a reverse cutting needle with a 1/2 circle curvature, suitable for use in moderately dense or fibrous tissues such as skin or subcutaneous layers.
