Vaginal and endocervical specimens are collected from patients using flocked swabs included in the specimen collection kit? Swabs are broken off into the transport reagent tubes to elute organisms and stabilize DNA? Swab specimens are then transported to the laboratory for testing on the GeneXpert Instrument Systems
