Description
Gardasil-9 is a single-dose vial vaccine of 0.5ml that is supplied in a pack of 10. Individuals older than 9 years of age are indicated with Gardasil 9 for active immunization against Hepatitis viral infections. Two doses are administered with a schedule from 0 to 6 to 12 months for individuals from 9 years to 14 years. A third dose must be administered if the second dose of Gardasil 9 was given 5 months apart from the first dose.
It can also be given as a 3-dose schedule administered within a year. The second dose is given one month after the first dose, the third dose is given three months after the third dose.
For individuals 15 years or older, the second dose of Gardasil 9 is given one month after the first dose, following the third dose, which is given three months apart. All doses should be administered within the span of 1 year.
It appears as a clear liquid with a whitish precipitate before agitation and should be shaken well before administration. It turns into a cloudy, white liquid after agitation. The caregiver must inspect the suspension for visible particles or discoloration before administration.
