It provides a concentrated source of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies derived from human plasma, aiding in immune function and reducing susceptibility to infections in patients with antibody deficiencies.
The mechanism of action involves passive immunity through the administration of IgG, which neutralizes pathogens, enhances opsonization, and regulates immune responses. In CIDP, Gamunex-C reduces nerve inflammation and prevents disease progression by interfering with pathogenic autoantibodies.
