Bacitracin Zinc ointment is a once-only use formulation in foil packaging, 0.9g that can fit well in any first aid box. If any minor cut, burn, or skin wound is left unattended, it can turn into a severe, painful infection. Therefore, to prevent any such infection, Bacitracin Ointment is used as a first aid ointment. The method of application is as simple as any other ointment for topical use. Clean the affected area and apply a small amount of the ointment 1-3 times daily. After covering your wound with a thin film of ointment, apply a sterile bandage. It can also be applied to children who get slight cuts or wounds while playing to prevent infection. It is a must-have in your first-aid box at home, so you can always be prepared to help yourself or your child with any such minor wounds.
Bacitracin zinc ointment is an external use preparation that is applied to cuts, burns, bruises, and other skin wounds to prevent infection on the skin. It is an antibiotic used topically against infection-causing bacteria and germs. A small amount of the active ingredient, i.e., zinc, is dissolved in petrolatum jelly to create an antibiotic ointment. Bacitracin is an over-the-counter polypeptide antibiotic that is used against any sort of topical infection due to scrapes, burns, cuts, or bruises. It acts by ceasing the growth of certain bacteria on the skin.
